Matheran is the closest hill station to Mumbai in the Sahyadri hill range. Matheran is situated at a height of 803 m above sea level. Since 1907, a narrow gauge railway line connects Matheran to Neral in the plains. Motor vehicles are completely banned in Matheran (Venice and Matheran are probably the only places in the world where motor cars are banned), making it quite peaceful.
How to reach – Matheran is 100 Kms from Mumbai and 120 Kms from Pune and lies between the Mumbai – Pune railways. Cars are not allowed within the Matheran. However car can be parked at Dasturi car point and take a 40 minutes horseback and men-pulled rickshaw ride to Matheran along a mud track.
Duration: – 2 Night / 3 Days
Program: -
Day 01: Pickup from your hotel and drive to Matheran. Reach Matheran and check into your hotel. Rest of the day is free for individual activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Full day is free for individual activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03:Morning drive back to Mumbai. Upon arrival in Mumbai transfer to your hotel.

Please note: - Big vehicles can not be recommended for Matheran due to steep roads. So the transfers is done normally by SUV. Vehicle can only reach till parking area of Matheran from there clients have an option of walking to destination or by horse ride for which charges would be extra.
